Game Center
Premium
English
This policy covers GRICT for iPhone, iPad and Android, including internal test versions. Android is being prepared for public release. The app supports ads and optional online leaderboards; Premium uses the applicable store’s in-app purchase system. Google Play purchases and restoration are being prepared for launch. Internal builds use Google official test ads, and purchase testing uses the stores’ test environments. We update this policy and provide required notices and choices when our practices change.
Information on your device
GRICT stores progress, unfinished puzzles, scores, ranks, badges, your nickname, preferences, G coins, unlocked stages, purchase-verification information and anonymous identifiers of blocked players on your device. Main puzzles work offline. The app does not provide a complete cloud backup of your game save. iPhone and iPad OS backups depend on device settings. Android app backup is disabled; restoring progress after reinstallation or a device change is not guaranteed.
Optional online leaderboards
Joining creates an anonymous identifier through Google Firebase Authentication. No email or password is required, but records are associated with that identifier. The app sends it, your nickname, best scores, totals, update times and displayed badges or profile information to Cloud Firestore to provide rankings. Other participants can see public nicknames, ranks, scores and profiles. Do not use your real name or contact details as your nickname.
Firebase also processes technical information, including IP addresses, for authentication, operation and abuse prevention. See Firebase privacy information.
Public player ID and recovery in version 1.1 and later
When you join the online leaderboard in version 1.1 or later, we assign a fixed public player ID (# followed by six characters) separate from your nickname. On iOS, an app-specific random recovery key is stored in the non-synchronizing, device-only Keychain. It is sent to the server for recovery; the server stores its hash, the public ID and the association with the current authentication account. The key and hash are not public or used for advertising. If you have not deleted the account, recovery on the same device may restore the same ID, but recovery is not guaranteed after a device reset or loss of the key.
On Android, the app combines the OS-provided ANDROID_ID with an app-specific string and hashes it locally with SHA-256 for recovery. The original ANDROID_ID is not sent to GRICT’s recovery server. The server hashes the recovery value again and stores that hash, the public ID and the current account association. This value is not public or used for ads. Changes to the Android user, device, app signing key or a device reset may change the value; recovery of the same ID, including after changing devices, is not guaranteed.
Online account deletion removes the authentication account, public ID reservation, recovery hash and mappings, account associations, public profile, rankings and related reports. Rejoining assigns a new ID, with no recovery link to the deleted ID. Your fixed ID during ordinary use and recovery of an account that has not been deleted remain available. Local progress, scores, G coins and Premium purchase entitlement are not deleted.
Policy change on October 12, 2026: Online deletions after this page update also include the public ID and server-side recovery information. This applies even if an older app says the ID is retained. Older apps and web requests may leave an old ID displayed locally, but its server recovery mapping is deleted. Version 1.1.2 (15), which updates the wording and local identity cleanup, is an update for Android internal testing and iOS TestFlight. Public App Store and Google Play releases will follow separately. Public IDs and recovery information left by the previous deletion policy were checked for remaining account links and removed on October 12, 2026. Contact deletion support if you have questions. IDs during ordinary use, local progress, G coins and Premium remain.
Premium badge in version 1.1 and later
After revalidating the purchase, we store the Premium badge publication state and verification time linked to the account. Other leaderboard participants can see the badge when its display setting is on. You can turn it off on the Badges screen. Purchase-evidence bodies, card numbers and store-account passwords are not published. Online account deletion removes the public badge state and verification time.
Game Center in version 1.1 and later
On iPhone and iPad, if you choose to connect from Profile or Leaderboard, the app uses your Apple Game Center account and submits your combined BEST score from Normal and Mirror modes to Apple's leaderboard. Your Game Center name and score appear according to Apple's visibility settings. Game Center is separate from your fixed GRICT player ID. You can stop future synchronization in the app. Deleting the Firebase online account does not delete Game Center records already submitted to Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy for information about Apple's services.
Nickname reports and blocking
When you report a leaderboard nickname, we store the reported name, the anonymous identifiers of the reporter and the reported player, a fixed reason, the leaderboard ID and a server timestamp in Cloud Firestore. The operator reviews reports to address inappropriate names and prevent abuse. Reports are not public to other players. We also retain duplicate-report receipts and any public-name restriction status. Deleting either participant’s online account removes related reports; the operator removes reports when no longer needed. Reports are not used for advertising or marketing.
Your block list stays on your device and hides the player’s name and profile in that device’s leaderboard. It does not change their scores or ranking calculations. You can unblock them through the same menu.
Advertising and choices
GRICT uses Google Mobile Ads to provide ads between stages and optional rewarded ads. The SDK may process IP-derived approximate location, device identifiers, ad and app interactions, performance data and other diagnostics for advertising, measurement, service quality and fraud prevention. Crash data is used for stability analytics and troubleshooting, not ad delivery or profiling. The app does not request precise-location permission.
Requests specify non-personalized ads; this does not mean no information is processed. The iPhone and iPad app does not request ATT authorization or obtain IDFA. Based on Google SDK Support’s explanation, this Apple configuration does not link data with other companies’ data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement. On Android, the ad SDK processes device identifiers such as the advertising ID and app set ID when available. The app does not pass leaderboard identifiers or nicknames to the ad SDK or use them for marketing its own products. Consent forms appear where required. Required privacy options are available through Data & privacy. Rewarded ads are optional. In supported US states, Google’s privacy options include choices about the sale or sharing of data. See Google’s Privacy Policy and the advertising SDK disclosures for iOS and Android.
Premium and purchases
The iOS app uses Apple’s in-app purchasing system. The app sends the product ID, transaction ID and Apple-signed purchase evidence to GRICT’s verification server in Google Cloud’s Tokyo region. The server checks the transaction and revocation status with Apple to confirm Premium entitlement. We do not store purchase evidence in a server database or our application logs. Apple retains transaction information under its own policies. GRICT Premium is a one-time in-app purchase. Verification supports both regular purchases and test purchases in Apple’s Sandbox environment. The app does not send Apple Account passwords or card numbers to Various Variant.
Android Premium is planned as a one-time Google Play purchase. Production verification and real-purchase checks are still being prepared. When available, the app will send the product ID, package name and purchase evidence such as the purchase token over HTTPS to GRICT’s verification server, which checks purchase and revocation status with Google Play. Purchase evidence is not stored in a server database or our application logs; Google retains transaction information under its own policies. After a purchase has been verified by the server, Google-signed purchase evidence is retained on the device for offline recovery. Checking current refund or revocation status requires a connection. The app does not send Google Account passwords or card numbers to Various Variant. Restoration uses the same store and account as the purchase; it does not transfer entitlement between Apple and Google Play or restore progress, G coins or other save data.
Analytics and diagnostics
The app's own external usage analytics are disabled. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are not used for the app's analytics or crash reporting. Firebase and advertising SDKs may separately process technical information for their services and quality.
Support, retention and deletion
Information you send to support, such as your email address, name, message, device and version information and attachments, is used to reply and investigate issues. Do not send unnecessary personal information, passwords or payment details.
Stopping leaderboard synchronization stops future updates but does not delete published records. Open Settings or Leaderboard → Data & privacy and confirm deletion of your online account and records. This removes the anonymous account, public profile and uploaded scores, including legacy records. Device progress, scores, G coins and purchase information remain. A connection is required; retry on the same screen if deletion does not finish. Joining again creates a new authentication account and uploads the records still on your device. The public ID and recovery information are also deleted. Rejoining assigns a new ID; deleted IDs are not restored. Contact us for deletion on older builds, persistent errors, or requests to access, correct or stop using your information. We handle requests with appropriate identity checks under applicable law. Uninstalling alone does not remove records already sent, and local saves may be lost.
If you cannot use the app or have uninstalled it, use our web-based online account and data deletion request. Reinstalling is not required to submit a request. We accept requests by email and process them after verifying ownership and the target account. A public ID or nickname alone does not authorize deletion; we may request additional information.
Information is kept as needed for these purposes and removed when no longer needed, subject to legal retention requirements. The public ID reservation and recovery hash support an active online account and its recovery, and are deleted when that account is deleted. We use Apple, Google and email or website service providers as needed. International operations may involve processing outside your country. We do not process personal information for sale.
Server operational records
Player ID recovery, Premium badge verification, purchase verification and deletion run in Google Cloud’s Tokyo region. HTTP access logs may contain IP addresses, timestamps and response status; current standard access-log retention is 30 days. We do not write authentication tokens, private keys or purchase-evidence bodies to our application logs. For safe deletion and retries, we keep the user identifier, a hash of a deletion token, status and timestamps. Completed records expire after seven days and are normally removed by Google’s automatic deletion process within a further 24 hours. Incomplete requests remain until a retry completes. Cloud infrastructure audit logs may follow Google’s separate retention policies.
Children and changes
GRICT is a general-audience logic puzzle, not a service specifically for children. Parents and guardians can contact us about information handling. We update this page and its date when features or services change, with required notices or consent choices.
